Your first visit will give us a chance to get to know you, your dental needs, and your personal preferences for the ideal dental visit. To update your records, we may take a full series of digital and panoramic x-rays. Your checkup will include a oral cancer screening, DIAGNOdent laser cavity detection, and, possibly, intraoral photographs. Plan to spend about 90 minutes at your initial appointment. After an exam with the doctor and a thorough discussion about your goals and expectations, you’ll meet with our hygienist. She will examine and probe your gum tissue, provide an orthodontic evaluation, and diagnose any level of gum disease, if applicable.
The dentist will show you our findings and recommend treatment options. Please feel free to ask questions. We want you to completely understand your state of oral health and the how particular procedures can correct problems. Together, you and the dentist will determine the best treatment plan for your oral health.
Before you leave, our front office or hygienist will schedule your cleaning. If restorative or cosmetic visits are necessary, we can also schedule these for you.
